DAOmotion App Privacy Policy

This policy covers the DAOmotion mobile companion app. DAOmotion operates the app and can be contacted at support@dao-motion.com. Website purchases and store accounts are covered separately by the policies on dao-motion.com.

Account and vehicle profile
We use Google Firebase Authentication to manage email/password and supported social sign-in. Account information includes your email address, account identifier and information supplied by your sign-in provider, such as a display name. Firebase processes credentials for authentication. When you save a vehicle profile, its name, year, product type and configuration choices are stored on your phone and in your Firebase account profile. Do not enter unnecessary personal information in the vehicle-name field.

Location, maps and navigation
If you choose navigation, the app and Google Navigation/Maps services process your location and navigation information, including destination or search queries, to provide maps, search and guidance. The app requests location permission for these features. Google SDKs may also collect IP addresses, device and app identifiers or metadata, navigation interactions and diagnostic information under Google's policies. Nearby road and building requests may send a geographic bounding area around your position to OpenStreetMap Overpass service operators, including overpass.kumi.systems and overpass-api.de. These requests also expose the connecting IP address to the service. You can decline location permission or stop navigation; related features will then be unavailable. Supported guidance and map information may be sent to your connected display.

Bluetooth, camera and photos
Bluetooth access is used to discover and communicate with compatible DAOmotion hardware. The app reads device identity, firmware and supported vehicle/configuration information and transfers settings, themes, firmware and user-selected photos to that hardware. Camera access is used when you choose to scan a product QR code. Selected photos are prepared on the phone and transferred to the chosen display; this photo workflow does not upload photos to your Firebase account. Local display communication is separate from HTTPS cloud connections.

How data is used and shared
Data is used to operate accounts, save profiles, provide navigation and maps, support hardware features, and maintain security and reliability. Firebase processes account/profile data, and Google Maps Platform and the relevant map-data providers process the data needed for their services. The app does not contain advertising SDKs or use your account/profile data for advertising. We do not sell your personal information. Information you send to support is used to respond to your request. Service providers may process data under their own policies and applicable service terms.

Storage and security
Account and map-service connections use HTTPS. Your phone also stores profiles, preferences, downloaded resources and device information needed for app features. We keep your account/profile data while your account is active, until you delete it or request deletion, subject to applicable legal requirements. Provider-held security, diagnostic, operational and backup records may be retained according to their policies. We do not claim that deleting a DAOmotion account deletes independent records held by Google or other providers.

Your choices and deletion
You can change permissions in your phone settings, edit your vehicle profile, sign out, or use the isolated Demo without signing in. In the app, open Account > Delete account, confirm the permanent deletion, and reauthenticate. This deletes your Firebase sign-in account, its saved cloud vehicle profile and the vehicle profile on that phone. It does not erase a physical display's photos, settings or firmware, or separately managed website purchase records. To request deletion without the app, email support@dao-motion.com from the account email with the subject 'DAOmotion app account deletion'. Do not send your password. We verify ownership before acting. You can also contact this address about accessing or correcting account data. Uninstalling the app removes its locally stored app data subject to your operating system's behavior.

Intended audience
DAOmotion is intended for vehicle owners and adult users, not directed to children. Do not operate app controls while driving.
